Mission: JPSFL Mission: The Justice Project of South Florida aims to utilize restorative justice methods and practices to strengthen relations amongst community stakeholders in the areas of our Four Pacts for Justice: Police & Youth Dialogues; Awareness & Advocacy; Community Engagement & Outreach; and Trainings & Programs.

Community Agenda: To develop a space where prevention, intervention, deterrence, and accountability converge to create a unique and impactful resource for those serving the community.

 

Meeting Attendance:

Quintin, Walter, Janelle Floyd Community Outreach Pub Defender. Dr. Ciara Bostic, Camie Cacace, Ariel McGirt, Katina Lawson (SPD Community Support Specialist), Mike Teichberg AJC, Traci Schwietzer, Georry Lubrerice United Way Broward, Alquavia, Progress, Jasper Sejour (MPD), Susan Bustos.

General Discussion:

Identify ways to increase law enforcement participation in restorative justice and diversion programs to improve outcomes for youth.

The importance why there’s a need to reach out to Police Unions, Police Units (CRO’s/ SRO’s), Police Clubs, and Pro-Law Enforcement groups that want to enhance their engagement with the community.

Identify areas for joint programs, events, or resource sharing.

How could we provide patrol officers with a contact card with direct emails and phones of community providers.

The importance of self-care

Task Items:

Identify FOP and PBA lodges personnel to schedule meetings and invitations.

Attendees will visit Police Union’s supported events websites such as Faith & Blue and Cops & Kids.

Attendees who were interested with Faith & Blue will schedule additional discussion with Dr. Ciara Bostic (BSO) about Faith & Blue” events.

Attendees who were interested with events with youth, officers, STEM sessions will contact Georry Lubrerice United Way Broward.
